About Dr. Thomas Hartz
|
Dr. Hartz is a 1977 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in Lexington, Kentucky. Prior to that he received his BS and MS degrees in Biology from Western Kentucky University in 1971 and 1975, respectively. Since graduation he has been practicing in the St. Bethlehem area of Clarksville, Tennessee.
He has been active in organized dentistry since his days at the University of Kentucky where he was the representative to the American Student Dental Association for two years. He has held all offices in the Clarksville Area Dental Study Club as well as past Treasurer, Secretary and President of the Eighth District of the Tennessee Dental Association. He was chairman for 5 years of the Council on Education, Practice and Health for the state dental association. Presently he acts as the Treasurer for the Tennessee Dental Association Foundation.
Through continuing education, Dr. Hartz has remained on the cutting edge of the field's myriad of technique enhancements and technology. He is an alumnus of the L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education in Key Biscayne, Florida. This institute is the oldest and one of the three most recognized institutes in the country for advanced post graduate education. In addition to being educated in the latest technical advances in dentistry, he has brought those benefits to the patient with computers, TV monitors and digital radiography in each treatment room.
Dr Hartz has also been active in the community. He served as Secretary, President and Chairman of the Austin Peay State University Foundation. In 2005 he was selected to receive the Tennessee Dental Association's highest recognition, The Fellowship Award. He has also served on the boards of the Clarksville Academy and Credit Bureau of Clarksville.
He is married to the former Judy Cook of Clarksville and has three daughters, two granddaughters and one grandson. They attend the First Presbyterian Church in downtown Clarksville. |
